BBQ Nights Catapult Glider Competition
To add a little entertainment and light-hearted competition to the up and coming BBQ Club Nights, we thought it would be a good idea to have a bit of fun with a Catapult Glider Competition.
To ensure a relatively level playing field, this will be ‘one make series’ and the weapon of choice for the competition is the Captain Thermal Catapult Glider designed by Stuart Marsden.
Mike Hutchins Memorial Event - Date TBC
Given the fact that current weather patterns for the foreseeable future are looking rather unpredictable, the Mike Hutchins Memorial Event will be postponed until later in the season.
Updates will be posted here in due course, so please check back regularly.
A-Cert Training Days
Training for pilots wishing to gain their BMFA A-Certificate
The Club will be running several training days throughout the coming year aimed at those members who wish to achieve the BMFA A-Certificate standard of flying.
Training sessions will commence at 10.00 and run through to 14.00 on the day. General club flying will be taking place at the same time and won’t be effected.
Beyond the ‘A’
Training for A-Certified Pilots and beyond
Following on from feedback and successes last year, the Club will be running several training sessions throughout the coming year aimed at those members who have already gained their BMFA A-Cert and wish to “move up” and progress their flying skills to a higher level.
This is not aimed at attaining the BMFA B-Cert but rather focussed on areas the flyer wishes to progress. This could be a desire to fly basic manoeuvres more accurately/consistently or to learn more advanced skills - it’s what you want it to be, and hopefully in a relaxed environment.
